Today we took Than to the Children's museum. It is fairly close by in Niantic and you can check out free passes from the library. We have passed it many times on our way to book barn and it doesn't look terribly impressive on the outside ( it looks a bit like a nice daycare) but it is really great for little kids inside. Than had a great time. I really thought he would get tired of it before we did, but it seemed like Than would run around in there until the end of time.
He played with one sweet little girl, but her older brother was a monster. He was stuck in the "mine" phase. He kept telling Than he wasn't allowed to touch things and saying things like "you better not come over here". Than just looked confused, he couldn't understand why that kid was being mean to him. Thankfully when he went his own way he found lots of fun things to play with.
Ryan's entertainment was the submarine they have in the playground out back. I just saw that it was yellow and intended for children over eight and then didn't look any closer. Turns out when Ryan went to look at it, that it is in fact a real ( though gutted) mini-sub. We asked about it and it was once used as a cable tender.
On a completely different subject...the sale of the house is progressing with only a minor snag so far. The buyers are having a bit of trouble securing financing through their bank. However the problem isn't them, I guess they have some strict guidelines on condos that say they won't finance if any one entity owns more than 10% of the units. I guess one person here owns three and there are only 25 units. So they need to get their bank to issue a waiver or find a different bank. I know they can find somebody willing it just may take a little shopping around.
